JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively process, validate, close and fund all direct real estate loans.  Must have working knowledge of real estate products and effectiveness in closing loans or identifying cross-sell opportunities.
• Must be able to assist members with their real estate lending needs, analyze complex loan requests, and make credit decisions based on lending policy and procedures. 
• Respond to member inquiries to determine pre-qualification, pre-approvals and complete real estate loan applications for completeness. 
• Must process and coordinate the closing of loans with members, escrow and title companies independently and in accordance with established procedures.
• Using good judgment, interview, underwrite, recommend and approve all types of complex real estate loans. Identify potential counter-offer loan requests, when appropriate.
• Coordinate mortgage loan reporting, including HMDA, HOEPA and HPL as well as shipping to FNMA, Midwest or other designated investor insuring timely purchase of funded loans.
• Work with training department in coordinating/conducting training seminars. This includes making branch visits in support of providing exceptional (training) service to all frontline personnel.
• Interacts with Information Services Department on loan system; Encompass and other affiliations, ensuring proper underwriting, reporting and regulatory compliance meet established guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• 5-10 years of similar or related experience along with the required education.
• Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
• Must have excellent communication and math skills.
• Knowledgeable with Word and Excel programs in order to work independently.
• Knowledgeable in consumer and real estate/mortgage loan products.
• Knowledgeable in consumer and real estate regulatory compliance regulations.
• Must have working knowledge of Automated Loan Decision System and Encompass Loan Processing system.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of pricing in regard to discount points, LLP Adjustments.
