Sales Rep – All Lines
The Sales Specialist is a staff member of the Amy Newland Agency and not an employee of American Family Insurance.
Objective
The Sales Rep role markets, prospects, and sells American Family Insurance products in all product lines. Maintains effective customer relationships, understands customer`s needs and matches them with appropriate product and service offerings. Promotes brand awareness through participation in agency and community events.
The All Lines Sales Specialist is responsible for attaining sales, profitability and service goals for all product lines.
Primary Job Functions & Activities:
· Sales Related: The Primary role of the Sales Specialist is to bring in new business to the agency. Here are a few of those activities:
o Cross-sell while assisting new/current customers:
§ Life insurance
o Work with customers to use technology and tools that benefit them
o Follow up with customers after sales to complete the sales process
o Maintain product knowledge for all lines of business and products written
o Create brokerage quotes & applications, especially those with Foremost, Vacant Express, and American Modern
o Develop knowledge of local market dynamics for business development opportunities for all product lines
o Helps the Agency grow by using consultative selling techniques to sell insurance products to new clients
o Proactively cross sells and or coordinates with agency team members to provide additional coverage to existing clients
o Prospects for new business through leads, calls, networking events, trade shows and personal contacts (includes leads through COI, social media, B2B and B2C networks, and sales lead groups)
o Meets and exceeds sales goals
· Service Related:
o Rate Changes
o Claims issues
o Assist with incoming phone calls
o Conduct Personal Insurance Reviews
o Other items to deliver outstanding customer experience
Knowledge and Skill Development
· Continually improves knowledge in area or field of specialization, insurance industry, products, underwriting requirements, sales, customer service and supporting technology
· Participates in continuing education and professional designation programs
Education/Licenses/Designations
· Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance products. The following lines of authority are required for this position: Property; Casualty; and Life; (Health is optional)
· Valid driver’s license required

Required Education & Experience
· High School Diploma
· A successful candidate must obtain property & casualty insurance licenses within agreed time of hiring offer (30 Days) & life license (90 days from original hire date)
· A candidate does not officially start until they are licensed.
Working Conditions
· Non-typical schedules (evenings or weekends) may be necessary on occasion
· General office setting
Compensation & Benefits:
· A successful candidate will make over $70,000 with base + commission and bonus
o Base Salary is $40,000

Schedule:
· Monday through Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
