    Job Description

    The Commercial Analytics Analyst will help support with data-driven research to help UPHE’s executives, customers, and other stakeholders understand the digital market. The analyst will help create comprehensive presentations and strategic recommendations. Key responsibilities include collecting and organizing data, analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, consumer behavior, and assisting in developing distribution strategies. The analyst will support in preparing detailed reports and presentations, collaborate with the team to transform raw data into actionable insights, and stay updated on industry trends. This role reports to the Manager of Commercial Analytics.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support in developing basic analytical and statistical models to address questions related to the transactional market.
    • Gather and analyze market performance and competitive insights to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the home entertainment industry.
    • Compile title pacing performance updates using partner-level point-of-sale data.
    • Assist with weekly premium performance reporting.
    • Assist with investigative projects such as pricing, growth of market segments, and effectiveness of various distribution strategies.
    • Utilize Excel, Power BI dashboards, and statistical software to answer a variety of business questions.
    • Verify the quality of data from key vendors and assist in resolving issues that arise.
    • Coordinate with IT team to build a user-friendly data warehouse, accessible by a several teams within the UPHE organization
    • Support with ad-hoc data and financial analysis requests.
    • Work with the team to drive business process improvements across the group.
    • Build effective partner relationships with internal stakeholders,
    • Present updates to a wide variety of interested parties, tailoring the message to fit the needs of the audience.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related quantitative field
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint

    • Solid interest in media/entertainment/technology.
    • Ability to plan and organize work to deliver on multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy.
    • Passion for learning about the growing film and TV VOD/EST business.
    • Analytical mindset with proven quantitative reasoning skills.
    • Self-starter: inquisitive mindset that innovates and revises processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Curiosity and excitement to share a point of view in team meetings.
    • Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, SAS, Minitab, R, SPSS, or similar.
    • Team Player – demonstrates ability to operate in a cross-functional team environment and willingness to give assistance to co-workers to achieve departmental goals.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, understand, and influence, to liaise with various internal professionals and build strong working partnerships.

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
