    Job Description

    Versant, an industry-leading news, sports and entertainment media business that provides content through a portfolio of iconic television networks (MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY and Oxygen) and complementary digital assets (Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine), is seeking a passionate researcher and data storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by the idea of contributing to the growth of a new company within a challenging media landscape.

    This position will be on the Versant Digital Platforms Analytics team, with a focus on supporting the CNBC and MSNBC digital teams to provide an in-depth understanding of the audiences, their behavior on sites, apps, social, and streaming platforms, and how to create the best content and user experience to deepen users’ connection with the brands and drive growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner with MSNBC and CNBC editorial, social, audience development, and product teams to deliver actionable insights and strategically make recommendations on performance
    • Handle performance metrics and reporting for all digital platforms including website, apps, and OTT platforms
    • Work within large datasets or a data lake to pull data for advanced analysis across multiple datasets and inputs
    • Leverage data visualization tools to curate reporting for cross-functional teams
    • Maintain, update, and distribute actionable dashboards or reports to ensure data governance
    • Partner with finance to maintain and refine operational business models and forecasts
    • Utilize SQL to create custom datasets across multiple data sources
    • Work within Adobe Analytics data to QA eVars/props and page calls, create custom metrics, and segments
    • Work with Data Engineering teams to identify requisite data sources to enhance database, financial, and marketing operations
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (concentration in Statistics, Business Analytics, Marketing, or related field a plus)
    • 2+ years of experience working in a data-oriented role
    • Proficient in SQL for data manipulation, joins, and data analysis
    • Experience with Domo, Tableau, Looker or equivalent data visualization tools
    • Experience with web, mobile, search, and/or social analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, etc.)
    • Familiarity with media-specific analytics platforms (e.g., comScore) and KPIs (e.g., ratings, impressions, reach and churn)
    • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, work ethic, sense of curiosity, accountability, and ability to execute projects of all sizes with vision & purpose
    • Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
    • Self-driven, resourceful, and resilient

    Additional Information:

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.

    • Salary range: $62,000 - $70,000
