    Job Description

    Position Overview:

    Versant, an industry-leading news, sports and entertainment media business that provides content through a portfolio of iconic television networks (MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY and Oxygen) and complementary digital assets (Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine), is seeking a passionate researcher and data storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by the idea of contributing to the growth of a new company within a challenged media landscape.

    This position will be on the Versant Digital Platforms Analytics team, with a focus on supporting the MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY and Oxygen digital teams to provide an in-depth understanding of the audiences, their behavior on sites, apps, social, and streaming platforms, and how to create the best content and user experience to deepen users’ connection with the brands and drive growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner with MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY, and Oxygen editorial, social, production, audience development, and product teams to deliver actionable insights to guide short-term & long-term content strategy for digital platforms
    • Handle performance metrics and reporting for all digital platforms, including websites and the TV Everywhere app
    • Query and analyze complex data sets (1st-3rd party) to develop content and customer insights that drive programming and editorial decision-making
    • Build and maintain dashboards utilizing Adobe Analytics & Tableau
    • Partner with business stakeholders across the Versant landscape to define business needs, craft analytic approaches, and develop data solutions
    • Synthesize complex analyses, KPIs, and concepts into digestible presentations for a variety of audiences, including key stakeholders and executive leaders
    • Evangelize performance stories, data democratization, and data-driven decision making throughout the organization
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2+ years of digital analytics experience, preferably within the entertainment, media, or digital content industry
    • Strategic thinker with ability to derive conclusions and recommendations from raw data, proven experience in analyzing and interpreting large, complex data sets
    • Proficiency in Adobe Analytics
    • Proficiency in SQL
    • Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking and data storytelling, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Highly organized, adept at multitasking, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities, with a keen eye for details.
    • Capable of working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
    • Proven self-starter with the initiative and resourcefulness to independently learn new skills and adapt quickly to evolving challenges.
    • Note: The interview process may include a skills assessment exercise

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with 3rd party media data sets; Nielsen products (i.e., NPower, NNTV, Gracenote), comScore, MRI, social analytics tools etc.
    • Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau to create interactive dashboards and reports
    • Passion for entertainment news, scripted/reality television, and streaming content

    Salary range: $65,000 - $95,000
