    BUSINESS UNIT AND POSITION OVERVIEW

    THE ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS SURVEILLANCE TEAM (ECS) is responsible for monitoring electronic communications of employees for potential procedural, regulatory or policy breaches. The ECS is part of the Global Surveillance function within Legal and Compliance, with employees located across the globe including London, Budapest, New York, and Boston.

    The successful candidate will be part of a team that reviews and investigates relevant alerts as well as helps to work with the service provider to develop improved alerting capabilities. Communications Surveillance covers all electronic communications systems/platforms used by employees.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Ongoing surveillance on employee’s electronic correspondence via an automated workflow team to detect potential regulatory, procedural or fiduciary infractions as well as employee inappropriate behavior.

    ADDITIONALLY:

    • Working with an online automated work-flow tool for investigating surveillance exceptions and documenting appropriate dispositions in a timely manner;

    • Work with direct supervisors and management to investigate potential issues

    • Liaise and collaborate with business and internal resources to manage escalated communications.

    • Identify and implement process improvements within existing procedures

    • Improve existing reporting resources and develop additional resources, as regulatory and business needs

    • Measure, track, analyse, and report statistical data

    • Work on ad-hoc inquiries and requests from business.

    • Building and maintaining positive relationships with the business and partners.

    • Prepare and maintain procedures

    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • 0-3 years’ work experience - working within an asset management or investment banking environment

    • General Compliance experience and knowledge of the markets, trading, asset classes and products is a plus

    • University degree or other equivalent professional qualification with a focus on finance or technology preferred

    • Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills

    • Strong technology skills including confidence in the use of Word, Excel and PPT applications

    • Ability to work in and enjoy a fast paced and challenging working environment

    • High standard of accuracy and excellent attention to detail

    • A curiosity about and awareness of the regulatory landscape

    • Experience with communications surveillance systems would be valuable
