Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking an Analytical Chemist – Mass Spectrometry Specialist to support extractables and leachables (E &L) testing for pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role involves hands-on work with GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS in a GMP-regulated lab, supporting both clinical and commercial testing.

You’ll be responsible for generating and interpreting complex data, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform E&L testing using GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS.
• Follow all relevant protocols, SOPs, and cGxP guidelines.
• Analyze and interpret complex data; compile results into technical summary documents.
• Review test results for accuracy and compliance; report any anomalies.
• Calibrate and verify instruments before use.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and lab techniques as needed.
• Support method validation and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain lab supplies, safety standards, and documentation.
• Participate in training activities as both a trainee and a trainer.
• Interact professionally with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 2+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with any industry experience.
• Hands-on experience with GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS.
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated laboratory.
• Strong skills in data analysis, documentation, and technical writing.
• Familiarity with electronic laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information

Additional Details:

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
