    Covia is looking for a dynamic MINERAL DRESSING ENGINEER who will have a positive impact on the TEHCNICAL SERVICES team at its MONTERREY NL, MEXICO location.  As a Mineral Dressing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to propose and recommend process solutions in out current productive process, also evaluate and recommend technical solutions as equipment or new process focused in reduction of production cost and product quality.

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

    • Process Audits:
      • Planning and developing process audits according to company policy
      • Determine the equipment and material to make the sampling of the process to audit
      • Keep updated the process flowchart
      • Collect and send material sampler to central laboratory and analyze the physical and chemical properties
      • Use the FSSIM software using the information collected to analyze the process.
      • Determine the process effectiveness according the information collected during audit.
      • Identify opportunities and process gaps to increase process efficiency
    • Capex projects and process start-up
      • Advise to operations and engineering area in technical issues for new capital projects
      • Review and approve the process flowchart according to technical methods
      • Recommend and review the acquisition of new equipment included in the capital project.
      • Verify and test new equipment according the vendor features.
      • Review the mechanical, civil and electrician draws according to Project technical requirements.
      • Create the instruction process and technical manuals to operate the new equipments
    • Continuous improvement
    • Elaborate continuous improvement report according to problem analysis solution
    • Stablish an workplan in case of process deviation
    • Measure and take samples to analyze the information for CI process
    • Recommend and propose new solutions to operations
    • Coordinate the start-up test execution

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Barchelor’s in Metallurgic Engineer
    • 4 years’ experience in industrial process minerals
    • Knowledge of mineral beneficiation techniques,
    • Including crushing, grinding, flotation, magnetic separation and screening, are essential.
    • Experience with silica beneficiation is a big plus.
    • The candidate must possess excellent communication, problem solving and PC skills as well as the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.
    • Full bilingual English / Spanish
