Transportation Coordinator (Savannah, GA)
Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of premium ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Celebrating over 23 years in business, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately-owned Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly on a global scale. Our most recent expansion has led to a new 400,000 sq ft distribution center in Savannah, GA, minutes from the Port and in a brand new industrial complex. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Transportation Coordinator to join our growing US Team.
POSITION SCOPE:
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for routing incoming and outgoing freight shipments and transportation needs for our new Savannah, Georgia location. This position will be the liaison between the Company and the Port Authority and will support the Supply Chain Transportation team that is based out of head office as necessary. The Transportation Coordinator will process shipping and receiving reports, filing freight and transportation documentation, and helping to source documentation needed to expedite inbound and outbound shipments.
CORE DUTIES:
Maintains delivery schedules and tracks deliveries specific to the Savannah location to ensure deliveries are met per communicated schedules
Serves as a liaison with the Port Authority for all inbound shipping containers and truck carriers to schedule TL (truck loads) and LTL (less than truck loads) shipments to the Savannah facility
Coordinates inbound shipments from sub-contractors and any return of goods from our customers
Re-confirms scheduled pickup with carriers to ensure shipments are being picked up accordingly
Updates scheduled pickup and delivery information into Anatolia’s tracking system and adjusts AP/AR rates in the system as necessary
Helps to source new freight companies and receive quotes for rate comparisons ensuring the most competitive prices and terms are negotiated and reached
Manages carrier score cards proactively to maximize efficiencies and optimize costs
Works collaboratively with carriers on charge backs and solidifies approvals proactively
From time to time coordinates light weight ground courier shipments
Regularly performs data mining activities and information analysis as required
Responsible for maintaining databases, KPIs and creating reports and/or scorecards
Assists with special projects and perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education required in Logistics or a related field required
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience working in a fact paced logistics or warehousing type of environment with high SKU count
Demonstrated experience working with carriers and Ports, and managing a variety of load variations pertaining to the import and distribution industry
Proficient with MS Office database systems (specifically Excel) required
Proficiency with SAP is required
Demonstrated ability and capability to work within tight and changing deadlines
Ability to collect, review, organize, interpret, and present logical data and information with effectiveness
High attention to detail, results oriented, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most work is performed in a standard office environment with limited exposure to adverse conditions or health and safety risks
Position requires moderate level of sustained visual attention, moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis with sitting at length
