Currently we are looking for an eager, motivated IT - Project Manager to join our growing team.Position Summary
In this role you will act as a Project Manager within the PMO team focused on managing the end-to-end product development process ranging from Concept Development to Final Launch. The Project Manager is responsible for creating, implementing and executing the process of managing multiple product development programs to ensure operational excellence and category performance. This includes mapping out and defining the list of dependent steps and processes that need to be completed to reach the overall goal as related to new product launches and product life cycle management with the objective of ensuring timely and right the first time delivery to the customer. Focusing primarily on tactical execution of operational elements, this role ensures deadlines are achieved, budgets maintained and delegates tasks across a cross functional team.Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the New Product Development expert to the project team, continuously resolve issues and manage risks
Liaise between account managers, sales, customer service, supply chain and warehouse teams to plan and execute project tasks, resolve issues and track progress
Help initiate, create, and manage a Project Management System for the New Product Development process
Takes the initiative to identify product development pain points, researching and introducing best-practices and tools to help the product development process operate more efficiently
Manages multiple projects through the critical path and tracks project schedule
Ensures project budget and on-time delivery commitments are met
Manages and evaluates the progress of projects from concept to delivery and ensures strict adherence to critical path
Prepares project reports for management, clients, and others as required
Monitors and tracks the process for item setup, master data management, and the accuracy of the data within this process
Actively manages project resources and deliverables in a cross-functional environment, ensuring commitments are achieved, project documentation maintained and post-implementation support provided
Serves as a conduit of information to all parties including design & development/marketing, sales, customer service and supply chain and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, and on budget
Attends operations meetings and other meetings as required to keep abreast of changes and to ensure proactive sharing of information is sustained
Partners with the applicable departments to prepare quotes, procure materials/products, and partners with operations to ensure all information and materials are arranged to support a smooth product launch and program run
Assists with packaging specifications and deliverables
Communicates and elevates process concerns in a timely manner, articulating issues and making clear recommendations
Defines, develops and drives internal processes to ensure adherence to schedule, product and logistic integrity to enhance the customer experience
Preparation, presentation and implementation of product roadmaps to strategically execute new product launches through to end-of-life cycles
Continually monitors and analyzes sales and inventory performance to identify down trending items and plans for discontinuing product lines, life cycle management and ensuring optimal assortment is obtained
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing or similar program required
Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent
3 to 5 years of direct experience as a project manager leading cross functional teams in a related industry (e.g. Manufacturing, Distribution)
In-depth knowledge of and experience working with different project management processes and methodologies
Working knowledge and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferable), Salesforce, and/or Routing/Scheduling systems is an asset
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project and Product Lifecycle Management tools
Exceptional data management skills with strong database and analytical skills
Experience with the Atlassian suite of project management software (e.g. JIRA, CONFLUENCE)
Strong strategic thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills with an astute attention to detail and accuracy
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the proven ability to work effectively with numerous stakeholders and contributors, both internally and externally
Passionate about achieving results and contributing significantly to organizational outcomes
Previous experience with sourcing an asset, coupled with solid business acumen, master data management, and understanding of product lifecycle management
