    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Asset Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounts payables and receivables, reconciling bank statements and updating the trial balance. This may include tenant inquiries, investigating issues, getting quotes from contractors, site visits, and checking contractor work.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Review and process all financial transactions (invoice, bank deposits, etc.) on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness

    Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to clients

    Monitor status of client accounts to ensure collection of lease receivables are up to date

    Process vendor invoices to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner

    Verify and reconcile bank statements

    Perform CAM recovery statements

    Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence

    Prepare cheques for mail, pick-up, or courier delivery

    Source and negotiate goods and services as required

    Oversee all project management pertaining to land lord work, renovations, and new development

    Process property tax appeals

    Assist in maintaining properties by investigating and resolving tenant complaints, completing repairs, planning renovations; contracting with landscaping and snow removal services

    Additional duties as required

    Qualifications

    Post-secondary education in Business Management or Accounting; CPA designation

    5 years experience in a similar role

    SAP experience required

    Previous auditing experience preferred

    Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization

    Computer literate, including advanced working skills of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

    Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills

    Demonstrated experience and ability working with moderately complex information that involve unrelated processes and methods using different variations in daily routine.
