    Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our growing team.

    Position Summary

    The Engineering Manager is responsible for activities focused on creating a culture of continual improvement. They will be tasked with identifying opportunities for improvement primarily within DC Operations concentrated on identification of productivity, capacity, layout, labour management, network design, and operation flow improvement/optimization opportunities. Industrial Engineering will be at the foundation of this role aimed at creation of efficiency and effectiveness of operational flow and customer service.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Analyze and evaluate efficient working of all projects and administer all processes and methods according to required supply standards and systems.

    Assist to organize and approve all labor and supply cost annually and prepare reports to measure all labor performance.

    Analyze all product costs and assist to reduce all negative variance on same and prepare strategies to reduce labor and wastage in all engineering projects.

    Assist Industrial Engineering department to design business plans and develop salary for all employees and prepare all required reports on weekly and monthly basis and manage all communication with production management.

    Oversee and manage projects/people (both direct and indirect reports)

    Maintain and update knowledge for all engineering processes and design all processes for manpower and associate program and monitor all productivity and ensure compliance to all safety standards.

    Evaluate and perform investigation on all variances for all planned and actual results for industrial processes and maintain track of all information and ensure integrity of all results for processes.

    Supervise reporting processes on everyday basis and manage everyday activities and ensure adherence to all fiscal budgets and prepare strategic models.

    Provide an efficient interface with various departments and provide support to all key staff members and design all strategies.

    Assist in the development of all process improvement procedures to improve operational efficiency.

    Determine fiscal requirements and personnel resources required for process re-engineering of process change.

    Prepare communication plans regarding process re-engineering for multiple stakeholders.

    Manage projects involving engineering, research, maintenance, and operations.

    Train and guide resources as needed.

    Provide technical and analytical support for process improvement initiatives.

    Assist in development of new process capabilities.

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or a similar program required

    P.Eng considered a strong asset

    5 to 10 years of experience within a Process Improvement or similar role, working within cross functional teams

    2 to 5 years’ experience within a leadership position or a Senior Engineering role

    Experience working within a warehouse or distribution facility preferred

    Project Management certification an asset

    Knowledge, understanding and the demonstrated application of Lean Six Sigma practices

    Demonstrated ability to rally a team and external stakeholders around strategies, timelines and budgets required

    Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and MS Project

    Working knowledge and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferable)

    Ability to multitask with a strong sense of urgency in a fast paced environment

    Exceptional planning, time management, organizational and follow-through skills with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment

    Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

    Strong attention to detail

    Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
