Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an eager, motivated Director of Supply Chain to join our growing team.
POSITION SCOPE:
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain activities: Demand Forecasting, Replenishment, Oversees Importation, Vendor Management, Ocean Carrier Management, Inbound Logistics, Customs Clearance, Inventory management and 3PL Relationship Management. This is achieved through
proactively managing inventory through the evaluation of past performance data to forecast needs and production scheduling. This role develops strategic plans to improve and maximize productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations, and works closely with internal teams and liaises extensively with external vendors as required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supply Chain + Execution
Oversee the development of the logistics forecasting and planning maturity model, process and tools to deliver information to the operational teams to enable flawless performance on service level and cost efficiency.
Oversees the execution of Supply Chain strategic projects and PMO.
Defines performance measurements and reporting to ensure key metrics of Service Levels and Inventory Turns are met or exceeded
Develops an effective supply chain organization to drive an overall efficient and effective strategy for the supply chain function within Anatolia Tile + Stone
Leverages core capabilities within the company to drive year over year improvement in supply chain productivity, quality, working capital turns and material deflation
Leads the development of processes for long range capacity planning, 30-60-90 day operational planning, and the development of a network strategy to support global Omni channel growth ambitions
Cultivates supply chain best practices and disseminates to the organization to drive performance
Provides analytical support for supply chain projects, including data collection, data analysis, score carding and supplier market research
Leads process improvements to address key program challenges and to increase Anatolia Tile + Stone’s ability to deliver upon its commitments
Conducts trend analysis, supplier management, cost plan development and implementation, supply base development, performance tracking and reporting activities
In addition to core tactical responsibilities, the Supply Chain Director may be involved in organization structure planning to enable the build-out and ongoing oversight of operations in other locations
Involvement and ongoing support and maintenance of SAP
Performs other duties as assigned
People + Relationship Management
Provides leadership to the Supply Chain team, including long and short term objective setting, recruiting and developing talent, and providing regular performance feedback and reviews
Establishes and maintains robust relationships with local and overseas factories, carriers and suppliers with the ability and the desire to acquire a basic understanding of manufacturing process and apply that knowledge to business decisions
Demonstrates an aptitude and passion for effectively leading teams, actively leading by example each day to motivate, inspire and mentor staff to realize goals
Promotes a climate of positive employee relations by maintaining open communications with the Operations, Sales and Customer Experience teams who rely on the services and support of this team
Conducts training regularly and coaches consistently to ensure employees are taught and can apply essential skills and knowledge to the performance of their daily activities with consistency and effectiveness
Creates standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, ensuring staff are trained and held accountable to adhering to established work processes
Acts as a liaison between the employer and workers for ensuring that staff remain current on company policies and procedures, along with compliance to all applicable health, safety and environmental guidelines
Establishes and delivers metrics/measures and operating objectives ensuring functions are carried out with cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality and performance standards
Takes the appropriate steps to ensure employees are appropriately managed in a manner that maintains positive employee relations while achieving productivity goals in a manner that is quality and safety-oriented
Carries out a variety of performance management activities, including coaching for peak performance throughout the year and completing appraisals as required
Participates in regular meetings as required, participates in various interdepartmental meetings to resolve issues and improve efficiencies as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business or Procurement or a related discipline required
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience years' experience in a similar capacity from within a similar distribution industry is required, with a minimum of 5 years managing a team
APICS CPIM or APIC CSCP certification highly preferred
Demonstrated capabilities in managing projects and suppliers is required
Must be able to travel occasionally out of country as required
Strategic sourcing experience and solid understanding of and experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis with financial acumen required
Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel
High level of proficiency with SAP required
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to a wide variety of audiences
Demonstrates accountability, integrity, flexibility, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial spirit
Leads by influencing others, building alignment, maintaining effective relationships, and communicating with effectiveness
Demonstrated experience in developing departmental strategy relating to hiring, KPIs, customer service and schedule attainment
Proven multi-tasker, with a self-motivated and efficient approach to driving a successful team
Demonstrated success in driving culture change in a positive direction
