Currently we are looking for eager, motivated Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to join our team Position Summary

    The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling maintenance and building services operations and staff to ensure the safe and optimal performance and upkeep of all equipment and facilities. This position requires a hands-on, people-leadership approach with the ability to interpret and act upon the needs of the to accomplish established objectives and compliance requirements.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Productivity Planning

    Plans overall maintenance operations for best possible utilization of equipment and headcount with the objective of attaining optimum operating efficiencies of equipment and facilities and equipment compliance.

    Embraces and applies continuous improvement processes in order to evaluate and improve productivity within the department to consistently satisfy customer demand and the management of resources.

    Ensures an unwavering commitment to quality and safety through the regular delivery of training, process improvement and problem solving, ensuring that maintenance and building services staff are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

    Creates preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and maintains an organized and adequate inventory of equipment and supplies in order to ensure operations remain continuous and unimpeded by downtime.

    Establish and maintain a maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

    Develops specific maintenance goals and targets along with plans to prioritize, organize and execute the work, measuring against KPIs and taking action to continuously improve overall performance in execution.

    Prepares maintenance reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving warehouse and production operations and facilities maintenance issues. in an accurate and timely manner and ensures all maintenance records are created, retained and actioned upon accordingly.

    Monitors and reviews information from materials, equipment, events or the environment to detect or assess problems and translate into actionable strategic solutions to mitigate future recurrence.

    Evaluates, plans and implements changes to machinery and equipment, database systems and methods of work.

    Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.

    Promotes and complies with and enforces health, safety, environmental and quality standards, SOPs, good housekeeping practices, and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times; performs regular workplace inspections, accident investigations, and proactively corrects unsafe acts or conditions.

    Continually looks for ways to reduce and eliminate scrap/waste, including but not limited to areas such as set-up, start-up, change-over, scheduling, and personnel planning.

    Directs the activities of the Maintenance and Building Services (Janitorial) teams, including manpower assignment scheduling, creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance and maintenance schedules, inspecting operating equipment and environment of the working area(s) to maintain standards.

    Through the Maintenance department ensures all required Codes (Building, Fire, Elevator, and Electrical) are achieved to compliance requirements and inspections and tests are performed with required frequency and attention.

    Works closely with the Warehouse, HR and Capital teams to minimize machine downtime by identifying root cause, ensuring timeliness of repairs, coordinating necessary support and following up on corrective actions to avoid recurrence or future breakdowns.

    Ensures all material handling equipment is managed and maintained in good working order, inspected, tested and PM performed in accordance with recommended manufacturer guidelines.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    People Relationship Management

    Coordinates directly with the Production and Warehouse Departments and Anatolia Capital Corp. to coordinate maintenance and repair work.

    Provides oversight and responsibility for managing contractors brought on site.

    Demonstrates an aptitude and passion for effectively leading teams, actively leading by example each day to motivate, inspire and mentor staff to realize goals.

    Promotes a climate of positive employee relations by maintaining open communications with the Maintenance team and with other departments who rely on the services and support of this team.

    Conducts training regularly and coaches consistently to ensure employees are taught and can apply essential skills and knowledge to the performance of their daily activities with consistency and effectiveness.

    Creates standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, ensuring staff are trained and held accountable to adhering to established work processes.

    Acts as a liaison between the employer and workers for ensuring that staff remain current on company policies and procedures, along with compliance to all applicable health, safety and environmental guidelines.

    Establishes and delivers maintenance metrics/measures and operating objectives ensuring operations are carried out with cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality and performance standards.

    Takes the appropriate steps to ensure employees are appropriately managed in a manner that maintains positive employee relations while achieving productivity goals in a manner that is quality and safety-oriented.

    Carries out a variety of performance management activities, including coaching for peak performance throughout the year and completing appraisals as required.

    Provides support and assistance to the Joint Health and Safety Committee as required to ensure hazards, deficiencies or improvement opportunities are promptly addressed or remedied

    Participates in regular meetings as required, participates in various interdepartmental meetings to resolve issues and improve efficiencies as required.

    Qualifications

    7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing facility.

    Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical discipline and/or skilled trades certificate (Red Seal) required

    Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and various applicable Codes pertaining to people, processes and equipment.

    Demonstrated track record of high performing leadership, fostering an environment of teamwork and common goals.

    Strong knowledge of Preventative Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Systems, Material Handling Equipment, and other warehousing and production equipment.

    Prior experience managing building services including janitorial, property maintenance, and HVAC systems.

    Proven ability for driving process improvements, adhering to plans/budgets, and ensuring compliance to regulations or corporate policies.

    Demonstrated experience in developing departmental strategy relating to hiring, KPIs, customer service and schedule attainment.

    Proven multi-tasker, with a self-motivated and efficient approach to driving a successful production team.

    Demonstrated success in driving culture change in a positive direction.

    Strong computer skills, specifically MS Office is required, SAP an asset.

    Demonstrates accountability, integrity, flexibility, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

    Leads by influencing others, building alignment, maintaining effective relationships, and communicating with effectiveness.
