    Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an experienced leader to oversee our facility within Savannah, Georgia

    SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for all aspects of warehousing and fulfillment activities, including accountability for day-to-day, continuous improvement, functional representation and supporting the strategic vision of the company. This role will serve as the head of the satellite business unit, reporting into Anatolia’s Head Office applying global corporate strategies at a local level.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operational Efficiency

    With extensive knowledge of new technology and equipment, facilitates the set up and opening of all aspects of a new distribution centre – configuration, racking, lift equipment, electrical and fire and security protection, hiring of direct and indirect staff, and all other necessary project elements

    Responsible and accountability for the planning, development, layout, supervision and control of the warehouse/3PL operations and distribution

    Develops and implements warehouse operations system improvement by analyzing process workflow, headcount and space requirements and implements changes as appropriate

    Implements and achieves warehouse operational objectives by preparing and completing action plans, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems, and achieving KPIs

    Direct and manage operations to maximize space utilization, improve lead time and reduce overall operating costs through best-in-class materials management and warehousing practices

    Monitor, prepare and communicate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and analytics to HO

    Ensures FIFO and Cycle Counts are followed and appropriately maintained

    Supports cross-functional supply chain and logistics initiatives and applies continuous improvement methodologies to improve performance across all aspects of the operations KPIs(quality, cost, safety, service)

    People & Relationship Management

    Provides overall management to this business unit’s team, leading by example modeling appropriate behaviour to motivate, encourage and reward the desired behaviours of team members

    Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports in the performance of their day to day responsibilities

    Liaises with carriers, suppliers and internal departments for optimal relationship management

    Manages any third party services in the day-to-day, ensuring cost, quality, safety and timeliness requirements are delivered to expectations

    Lead team department meetings, drive cross-functional communication and provide decision making to ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders

    Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, as required

    Work closely with all internal partners to ensure that the needs and time lines of internal customers are met

    Develops team capabilities through continuing on-the-job and formal training opportunities and coaching

    Responsible for all aspects of HR functions for the team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management and disciplinary matters, while also attracting and retaining a team that meets the needs of the organization

    Compliance

    Maintains a safe working environment and manages the warehouse in compliance with the company’s vision and communicated policies and programs

    Promotes and complies with all Anatolia Tile Stone Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and CTPAT/Security policies, procedures and controls

    Ensures all equipment is maintained in good repair and condition and deficiencies are identified and corrected expediently

    Investigates to find root causes of issues and determines appropriate corrective actions and/or preventative measures to remedy deviations and prevent recurrence

    Serve as a certified Safety Committee member and coordinate and attend all Safety Committee meetings as a management representative

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Post-Secondary Degree required in a related field

    Minimum 15 years of progressive experience including a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity from within a Warehouse/Distribution environment

    Prior experience designing and managing an integrated cross-border fulfillment operation including automation, inventory management and control required

    Demonstrated knowledge and experience in transportation, import and export procedures pertaining to all modes of transport (land, sea, air)

    Demonstrated proficiency with WMS and ERP systems, SAP preferred with the ability to learn new technology and train others

    Comfortable working in a matrix structure

    Lean 6 Six Sigma Green Belt an asset

    Must have ability to travel to Canada unimpeded as required

    Must be able to provide support to a 2-shift operation with ability to lead a cross-functional team

    Well-versed in applying strong business case analysis to new initiatives and/or large project opportunities with demonstrated evidence-based decision-making capabilities

    A skilled communicator and listener, able to take and defend unpopular positions, and capable of establishing a high level of credibility, both internally and externally with a wide variety of stakeholders

    Demonstrated ability to enhance employee engagement to effectively attract, retain and motivate a successful team

    Proven ability to re-design and implement new procedures, processes and strategies

    Possesses a valid license for operating material handling equipment, with capability to demonstrate and evaluate safe work practices of staff

    Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and business-oriented

    Highly attentive to details, with exceptional organization and planning skills and ability to deliver results against deadlines

    Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills in gathering and interpreting data to deliver sound judgment and exceptional decision making
