Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an eager, motivated Cost Accountant to join our team.
Position Summary
The Cost Accountant provides financial support on cost related functions throughout the organization, with specific support to the Sales and Marketing departments, but also works closely with the Finance Department. This role is responsible for precisely costing and articulating the financial impact of full-cycles of products and programs. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end workflow from ideation to delivery in order to effectively evaluate cost competitiveness aligned to strategic growth and incremental volumes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Creation and daily review of variance reports and review variance against plan to ensure effective management of financial impacts of departmental decisions
Creates and maintain product pricing, ensuring that all inputs to current pricing models are derived from accurate data and applicable rates while also ensuring the accuracy of pricing model formulas used to calculate all internal pricing lists
Provides assistance in the year end annual physical inventory count and coordination of the change in standard cost
Conducts variance analysis on material, labour and overhead vs. standard costs
Audits the costing of all SKU and costing changes of components through to finished goods
Assists as needed in the costing plan or budget preparation for the organization
Develops and maintains spreadsheet models and bill of material cost for calculating standard cost unit
Prepares, audits and recommends course of action for liability costing reports for reporting to the Sales and Marketing Teams
Recommends and advise on existing process flows and documentation across the organization for improved design, development, distribution and costing
Acts as a key user for SAP CO module
Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation highly preferred
A minimum 4 to 7 years of experience required in a similar cost accounting capacity with demonstrated progressive responsibilities
High level of computer proficiency and literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, multitask accurately, an execute successfully
Excellent English communication skills required, both verbal and written
Ability to prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives
Demonstrated success in taking or finding complex data, conducting analysis and translating it into meaningful information to be used by various levels in the organization
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Must have strong PC and ERP skills, particular with MS Excel, SAP and various querying tools
Must be extremely organized and committed to producing quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated to ability to work independently to complete projects to deadlines, interpreting instructions accurately and working methodically under pressure paying extra attention to the fine details
