    Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading manufacturer, importer and distributor of ceramic and stone products to some of the largest Home Centers and Distributors throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly.

    The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the accurate and expedient oversight of day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, health & safety, payroll, benefits and general office upkeep with the employee experience top of mind. This position is responsible for the delivery of a variety of HR and Safety policies, programs and procedures that will ensure not only the company’s legislative compliance obligations are met but the employee experience is best in class and the HR function delivers an optimal and efficient service partnership to business stakeholders.

    Responsiblities & Accountabilities:

    Strategy & Execution

    In conjunction with the Director of HR, develops the HR Business Partner strategy to support organizational and HR initiatives through analysis of key metrics, knowledge of labour market and HR trends, and liaising with other HR functional areas and organization leaders to create a strategy that is both data and business informed to facilitate the prioritization of employee-focused initiatives.

    Establishes and manages a budget for various HR initiatives ensuring the responsible use of resources and the effective utilization of technology to support HR efforts.

    Evaluate existing HR policies, programs and procedures and regularly recommend and implement improvements.

    Consults and guides department leaders on HR issues (e.g. terminations, return to work accommodations, conflict resolution, harassment, etc.)

    Develops, assesses, and monitors HR and H&S practices to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies to ensure best practices and compliance are established and maintained in order to ensure a safe, fun, fair and equitable workplace.

    Drive desired business outcomes based on factual data by developing and maintaining KPIs as well as analyzing and publishing HR scorecards to provide data-driven recommendations for improvements to HR programs.

    Champion the communication strategy for enhancing the efficacy and quality of internal communications for timely and meaningful sharing of information with staff.

    Participate and provide support and guidance to the H&S strategy and programs, including the JHSC and WSPS Safety Group Program.

    Develop and work on a variety of projects that will further enhance the HR and H&S strategies as required.

    Lead the end-to-end performance management process and programs, providing coaching and guidance to managers, leading talent reviews and running performance management calibration sessions.

    Creates standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, ensuring staff are trained and held accountable to adhering to established work processes.

    Provide guidance and oversight to company/employee functions.

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Relationship & People Management

    Manage a team that supports the functional areas of HR (human resources, health and safety, administration and housekeeping.)

    Managing internal client relationships while collaborating with key stakeholders in other functions/departments (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) within and outside the HR department.

    Working with the Director to ensure effective management of vendor relationships.

    Demonstrates an aptitude and passion for effectively leading teams, actively leading by example each day to motivate, inspire and mentor staff to realize goals.

    Promotes a climate of positive employee relations by maintaining open communications with the recruitment team and with other departments who rely on the services and support of these teams.

    Conducts training regularly and coaches consistently to ensure employees are taught and can apply essential skills and knowledge to the performance of their daily activities with consistency and effectiveness.

    Carries out a variety of performance management activities, including coaching for peak performance throughout the year and completing appraisals as required.

    Participates in regular meetings as required, participates in various interdepartmental meetings to resolve issues and improve efficiencies as required.

    This position also includes:

    Demonstrated ability to receive nominal direction regarding work responsibilities, discretion and judgement must be exercised in translating broad organizational goals into specific objectives.

    Demonstrated ability to provide direction regarding very complex work that has general objectives and provides guidance and consultation to senior management.

    Demonstrated understanding that work contributions have a direct influence beyond the immediate department and as such duties can result in significant loss time, financial loss and effect the morale of other employees.

    Demonstrated ability to provide a moderate amount of creative or innovation in carrying out duties. Creative problem solving is encouraged and is integral to the position.

    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collectively across the organization, customers, suppliers, or others outside the organization.

    Capability working with external and internal customers, discovering and comprehending their needs and providing efficient and effective support.

    Understanding that work efforts will have an immediate effect on the employer brand or public reputation, as such behaviour and communications shall be professional and accurate at all times.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required along with CHRL or CHRP designation.

    At least 10 years of progressive HR and direct H&S experience and at least 2 years of direct people management skills.

    Must have strong communication, partnership, teamwork and influencing skills.

    Ability to drive strategy, work with data and analytics and have a demonstrated capability to develop and execute effective and creative employee-focused programs.

    Proficiency with HR information systems and in the Microsoft Office Suite.

    Demonstrated ability and comfort level in public speaking to large crowds.

    Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, build relationships and gain trust within all levels of the organization.

    Solid business acumen, systems thinking and critical problem-solving skills required.

    Must have a demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and search efforts accordingly.

    Must be flexible, proactive, well-organized, high energy, thrive s under pressure and has the ability to produce high quality work for highly engaged businesses in a timely manner; champions the “can-do” attitude, taking on a variety of tasks or challenges.

    Strong leadership, management and people skills to develop and grow team members and to achieve results through others.

    Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and effective influencing skills

    Demonstrated comfort level with senior level decision makers.

    High degree of diplomacy and tact; experience working with interview teams and managing up and across the organization.

    Must have a high sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a passion for recruitment and recruiting exceptional global talent.

    Ability to provide non-standard support to off-shifts and secondary locations as required.

    Working Conditions

    Most work is performed in a standard office environment with limited exposure to adverse conditions or health and safety risks.

    Occasional visits to the warehouse facility environment is required, which requires PPE to be worn and minimal exposure to occupational hazards.

    Position requires low level of sustained visual attention, moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis with sitting at length.

    Occasional overtime with extensive work at a computer monitor, with some after-hours support required.
