    Job Description

    Ancestry seeks a highly motivated, internet-savvy analytics intern to join our Customer and Product Analytics team. The Product Analytics team supports Product Managers with critical business reporting, experiment design, and analysis to assess the impact of enhancements of new features, and in-depth customer analysis.  The team is highly collaborative, working with partners in data engineering, marketing, and data science to deliver analytical insights. As an analytics intern on the Product Analytics team, you will have in-depth involvement in one or more high priority analytics projects.  You will work closely with Senior Product Analysts, Managers, and leadership to gain hands-on experience supporting critical analytics initiatives, and you will use your skills and education to deliver solutions.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    Projects may include:

    • Exploring the relationship between Customer behavior and Customer sentiment (NPS, CSAT)
    • Working with senior analytics staff to conduct meta analysis of the impacts of multiple experiments
    • Exploring the relationship between Customer sentiment (NPS, CSAT) and business performance
    • Supporting operational analytics projects and execution.  Identifying and understanding various data sources; building tools and services to improve analysis and experimentation throughput.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. preferred
    • Must be currently enrolled in a university and graduating after Summer 2019
    • Specializing in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a quantitative-focus in Economics, Psychology, or Sociology
    • Hands on experience manipulating data (SQL preferred) and conducting analysis (R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Stata)
    • Working knowledge of applied statistics.  You are comfortable with concepts of population parameters, sample statistics, and commonly used probability distributions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Team player with a positive and “can-do” attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, inquisitive, energetic
    • Nice to have experience analyzing real-world data sets
    • Nice to have experience in data visualization, Tableau preferred.
