Reports to: Management Position Summary: The Bartender is to greet and attend to all customers in the appropriate amount of time. Excellent customer serves skills and bar tending knowledge is a must.
Job Summary We are seeking a Bartender to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for taking customer orders, making drink recommendations, keeping the bar area clean and inviting, and creating a variety of traditional and creative cocktails. The ideal candidate is energetic, customer-service oriented, and is passionate about mixology.
Responsibilities
Take drink orders
Confirm patrons are of legal drinking age and follow all state and federal laws for serving alcoholic beverages
Collect payment and operate cash register
Order, maintain, and restock inventory of bar supplies and ingredients
Perform duties associated with opening and closing the bar, including cleaning and mopping
Responsibilities: Follows the Anchor Bar standard of service. Adheres to Anchor Bar uniform guidelines and standards of appearance. Makes specific suggestions and up-sells for food and drink, having complete knowledge of the Anchor Bar menus. Suggestive sells. Uses salesmanship to increase check averages. Accurately take customer orders and correctly inputs them into the POS System. Visually checks IDs to determine customers’ legal age. Upholds state and local liquor laws. Rings orders into POS system and communicates additional information to bartenders and cooks. Ensures all food and drinks served are within Anchor Bar standards of quality and freshness. Visually observes customers and responds to all additional requests. Ensures all takeout orders are correct and packaged properly before providing them to the customer (When not done by host or take out staff.). Totals customers’ checks in POS system and presents checks in a timely manner. Clears, cleans, and performs table/bar maintenance and sanitation procedures on an on-going basis. Refills beverages whenever necessary. Does “running side work,” i.e., stocks service area with napkins, condiments, silverware, etc. Continuously promotes teamwork. Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or bartending is preferred
Mixology or hospitality certification is preferred but not required
Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and bar menu items
Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service and time management skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Be at least 21 years of age. Bartending experience preferred. Ability to enforce company policies regarding consumption of alcohol.. Able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area. Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness. Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness. Possesses excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a POS system. Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours). Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift heavy items. Understands completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
