We are currently looking for a self-motivated bookkeeper to help manage the accounting and finance back-office operations of our clients’ businesses. Applicants must complete an application on our website (https://fixmybooks.org/jobs/).
Accountabilities:
- GROSS PROFIT GENERATION - Contribute gross profit as follows:
- 1st month: $2,200
- 2nd month: $3,000
- 3rd month on: $3,300 or more
- ONTIME DELIVERY - Financial statements are to be delivered to clients by the 15th of each month, except as dictated by the client
- QUICKBOOKS ONLINE - Thorough understanding of QuickBooks Online and maintenance of current QuickBooks certifications
- UTILIZATION RATE - Greater than 85 percent
- TRAINING - Responsible for initial and ongoing training for new bookkeeping team members
- DEVELOPMENT - Expected to pursue constant personal and professional improvement
- COMMUNITY SERVICE - Spearhead the firm's quarterly community service efforts. Coordinate directly with Executive Directors of not-for-profits to setup dates and activiites and internal preparations.
Primary Job Functions:
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Enter data, maintain records and prepare reports and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll promptly
- Prepare, maintain, and close purchase orders
- Process vendor and supplier invoices
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Prepare sales tax reports
- GL account reconciliations
- Prepare accrual entries
- Internal and external special projects
Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Ability to handle multiple accounts at one time and remain organized without direct supervision
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
- Customer service orientated
- Ability to negotiate for a positive outcome
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be fast-paced and be able to meet tight deadlines
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in a Business related field
- Willing to become Quickbooks Certified within 3 months of employment
Preferred:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting
· Quickbooks Certified
