    Job Description

    ABOUT THE FIRM:

ANDRADE LAW OFFICES, CRIMINAL DEFENSE, AND PERSONAL INJURY.

Based in Santa Barbara, California, our firm has been representing clients in serious injury lawsuits and representing criminal defense clients for over 35 years. The firm's success has been grounded in treating every case and client with the respect and compassion they deserve and communicating with them through every step of the process. Our firm consists of a lead attorney, a managing paralegal, and two legal assistants.

    ABOUT THE JOB:

This is a learning position that requires someone who is serious about continuous improvement in becoming the best attorney they can be. You will be required to perform research, write motions and briefs, make court appearances, attend depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. We are willing to take BRAND NEW LAWYERS because they have not learned poor habits, and who are hungry for knowledge and for courtroom time. You must have reliable transportation because you may have to attend hearings out of town. The job sometimes requires extensive stays out of town to support trials (weeks at a time). There is no room for arrogance in our office. Being a lawyer is not about having a plaque on your desk or a certificate on the wall. It is not about you; it is about the people you represent.

You will be a salaried professional which means that you may not always start your day at 8:00 am, and you may not always get off at 5:00 pm. Sometimes your day starts at 6:00 am because you have briefs to write or an entire case to pour through. However, there are also slow times, when an early out is not a problem. If you are new to PI and criminal law, you must work in the office until such time that you become comfortable and efficient working remotely. If you have proven experience in these fields, remote work is a possibility.

The job is paid a base salary, which primarily pays you for your criminal court appearances. You are commissioned on personal injury settlements, and verdicts won, which can amount to significant compensation depending on the case and how efficiently the case is managed. You are also bonused on the business you bring into the office. We expect all our attorneys to market themselves on social media and other mediums to bring business into the firm.

    • You have passed the California State Bar
    • You are fluent in Spanish and English
    • You are punctual

    • You are someone who finds the answer if you don't already know it.
    • You are good at research
    • You are someone who works to the job, not the clock, and does what it takes to get the job done.

    • You are not timid and afraid to confront insurance companies on behalf of your client.
    • You are someone who understands that power comes in the form of self-control and strategy, not outbursts and mistreatment of others (which is not tolerated in our office).
    • You are willing to earn your financial success by managing your "Personal Injury" cases efficiently. Even though you may not have the years of litigation under your belt, your goal is to be the best of the best, and nothing will stand in your way to get there.
