    Andworx is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Controller with government contracting experience to oversee our financial operations. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on and experienced do-er to join our team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with day-to-day accounting tasks, program financials analysis, budget setting, and providing strategic financial advice to the CEO. This role presents an exciting opportunity for growth with the company, potentially leading to the role of CFO.

    This position is 100% remote but candidates should live within a commutable distance to Falls Church, VA as there will be occasional requirements to attend in-person company functions, events, or just work out of the office once in a while if you'd like.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects of the company's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Oversight of Accounting Firm: Collaborate with external accounting firms to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to industry best practices.
    • Program Financial Analysis: Compile and analyze program financial data to provide insights into financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.
    • Budget Setting and Maintenance: Develop and maintain annual financial budgets, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
    • Strategic Financial Advice: Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis, industry trends, and business objectives, contributing to the company's growth and success.
    • GovCon Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant GovCon regulations, including familiarity with JAMIS or similar GovCon financial systems.
    • Culture Contribution: Embrace and contribute to our upbeat and friendly people-first culture, fostering collaboration and teamwork across the organization.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, with specific experience in the GovCon industry.
    • Strong knowledge of GovCon regulations and compliance requirements such as DCAA, FAR and DFAR.
    • Strong experience with GovCon ERP financial systems. JAMIS experience is a plus, however willingness to learn JAMIS is required.
    • Proven ability to perform day-to-day accounting tasks while also providing strategic financial advice to senior leadership.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a remote work environment.
    • US Citizenship is required.
