Contract Specialist (CS) participating on team of Contract Closeout Specialist supporting the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA MUST HAVE CDC CONTRACT EXPERIENCE AND BE AVAILABLE FOR START LAST WEEK OF AUGUST 2021 INITIALLY TEAM WILL WORK REMOTELY THEN WORK WITHIN CDC GOVERNMENT SPACE AT 2900 Woodcock Blvd, MS TCU-4 Atlanta, GA 30341 YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK AT THIS ATLANTA GA CDC SPACE WHEN GOVERNMENT REQUIRES Full-time, Salary with Benefits The Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) plays a vital role in furthering the CDCs mission of promoting public health and improving the quality of life by processing acquisition actions for the agency. In recent years, providing acquisition support to CDC has become increasingly challenging due to the growth of CDC, as well as additional demands placed upon OAS by programs that include the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), Ebola and Zika. The CS will participate with a Contract Closeout Team made up of Contract Closeout Specialists who provide assistance with the closeout of purchase orders/task orders/contracts in the CDC's Office of Acquisition Services within the Office of Financial Resources. CS will perform the full range of close-out functions for expired awards, including: * Independently research applicable regulations, policies, and guidance documents for contract management issues (pre-award, post-award, allowable costs, audits, etc.) * Research applicable regulations, policies, and guidance documents for contract management issues (Pre-award, post-award, allowable costs, audits, etc) CS will attend meetings associated with assigned tasks Respond to data calls as requested QUALIFICATIONS: CDC Contract Experience , Preferred Formal contracts certification program, relevant direct experience equivalent to that of a FAC-C or DAWIA Level I or II knowledge of procurement and/or grants policies and procedures, familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), knowledge of CDC's "ICE" system. Education: Required Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or related field) or equivalent of 2-4+ years of relevant experience, superior verbal, written and analytic/detail oriented skills, proficiency in MicroSoft Office products (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), excellent organization skills and ability to perform multiple tasks within short deadlines. Special Requirements, Certifications and Licensures: Must have extensive knowledge of federal government contracts, including related legal requirements, FAR.
