    Nestled in the heart of beautiful Palo Alto, the Animal Hospital of Palo Alto (AHOPA) is a well-appointed, two-doctor general practice veterinary clinic. Our facilities feature IDEXX lab equipment, dedicated surgical suites, digital x-ray capabilities, and spacious outdoor accommodations for dog and cat boarding. With our separate upstairs doctors' office, AHOPA provides a functional yet comfortable work environment.

    We are seeking a dependable, energetic Associate DVM to join our collaborative team.     Core Responsibilities & Requirements

    • Examine, diagnose, and treat animals brought into the veterinary clinic/hospital for medical care
    • Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spay/neuter operations as well as more complex surgeries
    • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
    • Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
    • Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, blood work, etc. and develop treatment plans
    • Maintain comprehensive patient medical records and documentation
    • Assist in emergencies and provide urgent/critical care when needed
    • Mentor and oversee veterinary technicians and support staff
    • Stay up-to-date on new veterinary techniques, medications, and best practices
    • Promote public health through zoonotic disease tracking and reporting

    Competencies And Experience

    • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of CA
    • Requisite clinical privileges and DEA license
    • Sound medical judgment
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Time-management and delegation abilities
    • Exercises sound judgement and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
    • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with others
