    Job Summary:

    The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading Animax’s procurement activities from beginning to end. The purchasing manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, overseeing logistics, shipping & receiving, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

    To be successful as a purchasing manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding purchasing manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers. Developing ways to ensure diversity within the supplier and procurement process is critical to the overall success of this role.

    This position will report into the Sr. Director of Finance for Animax.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.

    Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.

    Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

    Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.

    Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.

    Managing the maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery.

    Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

    Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.

    Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.

    Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

    Required Education and Experience:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field · 3+ years purchasing experience required · Practical experience with purchasing software a strong plus · Strong communications, analytical, and multi-tasking skills

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    · Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with internal and external partners

    · Ability to reprioritize in a moment’s notice

    · Strong data entry and attention to details skills

    · 3+ years’ experience with Excel

    · Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct

    Preferred Skills and Abilities:

    · Experience with Purchasing Software

    · Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company

    · Experience with Sage50 or Sage300 preferred

    · Accounting Experience

    Physical Requirements/Environment:

    · Work environment is a warehouse/shop and involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions.

    · Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as fumes, odors, and/or loud noises.
