    Job Summary:

    Work in a highly creative team environment, developing one of a kind characters for the themed entertainment industry.

    The Senior Mechanical Engineer, P.E., is responsible for acting as a Team Leader and resource within the mechanical engineering function. You will coordinate work processes and resource management within a specific project team as well as across group boundaries (i.e., Creative, Electrical, Manufacturing). You will create mechanical designs on projects from concept through commissioning and beyond. Design tasks primarily involve structural components, electromechanical servos as well as pneumatic/hydraulic actuators, and providing theoretical validation of design.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    Performs necessary static and dynamic FEA and/or hand-calculation analyses supporting client and internal standards.

    Perform PE of Record signoff’s of internal and external analyses.

    Creates 3D parametric solid part models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings of complex electromechanical robotic systems.

    Leads mechanical design review presentations to team and clients.

    Read and understand customer and Animax Designs functional specifications for a project.

    Create and manage Bill of Materials and all other associated documentation.

    Assist the Engineering Manager with schedule and budget management.

    Perform FMEA’s and Hazard Analyses.

    Travel as needed to install and commission animated figures at client installations.

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Licensed P.E. in the state of Tennessee (or ability to obtain such in 90 days)

    BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering.

    Strong math skills.

    Finite Element Analysis experience with set-up and interpretation of results.

    7 to 16 years of relevant work experience

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    Advanced experience in 3-D Cad software preferably Solidworks.

    Experience with document control systems (PDM).

    Knowledge of common manufacturing & machining practices.

    Approaches design as a collaborative, systems approach.

    Effective communication, both written and verbal.

    Ability to work with and lead others within a collaborative team environment.

    Proficient using Microsoft Office Suites.

    Able to manage project tasks effectively to meet schedule milestones.

    Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

    Knowledgeable with SolidWorks 2021, SolidWorks Simulation, and SolidWorks PDM

    Thorough understanding of four-bar linkages

    Understanding of GD&T.

    Experience in the Themed Entertainment industry is a bonus, but explicitly not required.
