    World Heritage Exhibitions is seeking a full-time Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a gift shop attached to a historical exhibition on display in San Francisco.

    The Retail Manager serves as the onsite leader of all shop activities and is responsible for ensuring the shop is clean, organized, well-stocked, and prepared every day to achieve company sales goals. The Retail Manger oversees the gift shop staff and leads the whole gift shop team in creating an exciting and welcoming experience for exhibition guests.

    Ideal candidates will display strong leadership and communication skills, an enthusiasm for customer service, and an ability to inspire and drive steady sales performance.

    Note: This position is a seasonal contractor hire with the contract’s expected finish date occurring in late February 2023.

    Responsibilities

    · Oversee the administration of the gift ship staff including shift scheduling, managing breaks, and ensuring the team is compliant with company standards for dress code and conduct

    · Assign daily tasks and positions to gift shop staff

    · Provide training on exhibition merchandise and shop POS systems to any new staff

    · Oversee and maintain product inventory via back of house logistic systems to ensure physical product levels match system levels

    · Oversee and perform weekly and monthly stock counts of merchandise items and be responsible for investigating and explaining any variances between physical and system counts

    · Schedule regular product re-stock orders from local merchandise warehouse to ensure robust onsite product levels

    · Provide daily sales reports and maintain accurate sales records

    · Oversee all cash counting and handling in the shop, including providing daily cash floats, conducting end-of-day cash wrapping, and organizing cash deliveries and bank deposits

    · Consistently design and implement promotion and sales strategies to drive sales and achieve company goals

    · Assist the exhibition’s Operations Manager with various tasks as directed

    Minimum Qualifications

    · Bachelor’s degree

    · 2+ years in a store or retail management role overseeing a staff

    · Experience in inventory management strongly preferred

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    · Proficiency in formulated spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel

    · Proficiency in basic A/V and PC troubleshooting

    · Must be able to work weekends and holidays

    · Ability to lift heavy packages

    Additional Qualifications

    · Experience with cultural institutions/museums a plus

    · Experience in customer service in a public-facing role a plus
