Job Summary: The Casting Specialist will be expected to work in a team environment to complete tasks with a consistent integrity and quality established by Animax’s quality assurance personnel and department manager. This role is a key member of the Soft Casting team, who casts and processes the artistic elements of our entertainment animatronic figures and puppets using established materials. The ideal candidate for this role has hands-on experience with casting and processing silicone, urethane, and latex elements. A keen attention to detail and enjoys working on a team to accomplish big goals. At times, this individual may be required to assist with other areas of the Sculptural Design department, including assisting with sculpting, mold making, sanding, painting, and various other tasks that may be needed. This role is perfect for practical effects artists, special effects makeup artists, prop makers, sculptors, etc. Casting Specialists will report to the Soft Casting Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Ability to work individually as well as part of the team. You are part of a team and expected to perform and participate with mutual respect for fellow teammates.

· Knowledgeable in casting, and processing of various materials. As well as some fabrication techniques to be produced from sculptures or other dimensional models

· Work closely to coordinate work and timelines with other Animax teams including engineers, technicians and administrative staff

· Assists with proposals and/or business cases analyses

· Achieving all deadlines on time as given by supervisor

· Ability to deal with stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere

· Ability to determine the processes to complete project with limited oversight

· Efficiently manage time in a deadline-oriented atmosphere

· Prepares documentation of project processes through notetaking and photos

· Introduce innovative techniques to create efficiencies and continued education within mold and casting processes

· Uphold NDA requirements to protect all IP

Required Skills:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience

· Solid background in silicone/urethane/latex casting and processing

· A minimum of 5 years of experience

Qualifications/preferred skills: ·

· Casting silicone/urethane/latex

· Seaming and processing silicone/urethane/latex

· Some sculpting and paint skills

· Some fabrication skills. I.e., foam carving/gluing, basic armature construction, basic sewing ability

· Mold making knowledge. I.e., stone, urethane, silicone, and fiberglass

Work Environment

· Being mobile; able to stand for long periods of time as well as occasionally squat, kneel, crawl etc. to be underneath or on top of a mold

· Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
