Job Summary:
Work in a highly creative team environment, developing one-of-a-kind characters for the themed entertainment industry.
Responsible for acting as a Leader within the mechanical engineering group, including coordinating work processes and resource management within a specific project team. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will create mechanical designs on multiple systems from concept to commissioning. This includes mechanical design with electromechanical servos as well as pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. Partnering with the internal creative and manufacturing teams as well as our electrical team to produce One of a kind, industry leading animatronic characters. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties/Functions:
Creates 3-D parametric solid part models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings of complex electromechanical robotic systems.
Presents mechanical design presentations and reviews to team and clients
Reads and understands customer and Animax Designs functional specifications for the project.
Creates and manages Bill of Materials and all other associated documentation.
Perform FEA and RBD (Rigid Body Dynamics) to client and internal standards.
Performs quotes to out-source part vendors
Performs FMEA.
Travels as needed to install and commission animated figure at client installation site.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
7 to 16 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in the Themed Entertainment industry preferred, but not required.
MCSE, HP, CCNA, ITIL, INS, NICE, MCSA, MCP, GICSP, SSL
Required Skills and Abilities:
Advanced experience in 3-D Cad software, preferably Solidworks
Experience with document control systems (PDM)
Knowledge of modern manufacturing practices.
Thorough understanding GD&T.
Strong math skills and knowledge of Analysis.
Effective communication, both written and verbal.
Ability to work with others in a cross disciplinary and collaborative team environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.
Able to manage project tasks effectively to meet schedule milestones.
Work environment is a warehouse/shop and involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions. Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as fumes, odors, and/or loud noises.
