BASIC OVERVIEW OF POSITION.
The Controller is in charge and will closely monitor Animix’ s financial health.
Must use good business judgement to advise The President, Executive Vice President, and management team on financial matters.
Works closely with President and Executive Vice President to establish financial objectives and prepare periodic reporting and analysis of operating results.
Advises President on financial matters in general.
Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling of the financial activities of the Company.
Must oversee and manage the general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collection and IT areas.
Follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Maintains Animix insurance plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT DO THE BEST PERFORMERS DO IN THIS ROLE?
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the quality, accuracy, and thoroughness of the general accounting and financial activities of the company. This includes accounting for project management activities, cost accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable, general ledger, daily cash control and deposits, bank reconciliation, etc. Ensure integrity of general ledger, creates and reviews monthly journal entries.
· Safeguards the financial resources of the business through establishing and monitoring programs for internal controls and general security. Plans for and effectively manages cash flow, makes determination of when and where to invest cash, when to pay debt, etc.to maximize return.
· Works closely with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate payment of invoices received.
· Prepares regular financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, etc.) and presents to President and Executive Vice President as scheduled with explanations of variances and irregularities. Collects data, analyzes information, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on special projects as needed and requested by President, Executive Vice President or other management team members.
· Maintains good working relationships with banks or other financial institutions utilized by the company and provided necessary information to banks or financial institutions as needed.
· Back up and overview for company payrolls.
· Backup to all accounting functions. Reviews inventory adjustments to financials as needed.
· Establishes proper risk management policies and programs.
· Responsible for any IT related projects and issues. Works closely with IT consultants.
· Manages IT area. Ensure software is current and being used to its potential. Ensures backups are completed and stored properly.
· Keeps current with developments in accounting in order to identify potential problems or opportunities. Discusses findings/questions with President, Executive Vice President and/or CPA company.
· Works with CPA company to plan for and efficiently conduct annual review of Animix’s accounts. Prepares work papers for year-end review and tax returns.
· Follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and HAACP guidelines and regulations
· Perform other duties and projects as needed/assigned.

WHO DO THEY WORK WITH?
The Controller reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Animix, and indirectly reports to President of Animix. Is the member of the management team. Provides President, Executive Vice President, and other in the Company with input and information on operational efficiency and financial performance. Has regular contact with vendors, customers, and auditors.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (desired).
· Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment : 5 years (preferred).
· Prior experience in manufacturing company (preferred)

· General office environment. Work can sometimes be performed remotely.
