POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the supply and maintenance functions for the Credit Union. Assists in maintaining and inspecting property, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds. Performs minor preventative maintenance and repairs, and supervises, directs, and assists outside service personnel and vendors as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs to the CFO. Assists with requisitions and procures, receives, stores, issues, and accounts for supplies used in the everyday operation of the organization. Assists with document storage, retention, and destruction. Handles interoffice mail distribution and courier service between branches. Provides courteous, professional assistance to Credit Union personnel as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE OF ASSIGNED FACILITY MAINTENANCE FUNCTIONS.
2. ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, COORDINATION, AND COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CREDIT UNION PERSONNEL, MANAGEMENT, VENDORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS.
3. ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTAINING RELATED MAINTENANCE RECORDS.
4. ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED OR ASSIGNED.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Buildings and equipment are clean, in good repair, and well maintained.
Preventative maintenance and repairs are effectively performed in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Maintenance needs and problems are promptly identified and resolved or reported.
Maintenance functions are well coordinated with individual department operations. Assistance is provided as needed.
Management is appropriately informed of area activities.
Outside service personnel are optimally utilized and assisted as needed.
Effective, courteous relations exist with Credit Union visitors, vendors, and members.

CLIMBING:
Includes ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
STOOPING:
Bending downward and forward at the waist. Required full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
KNEELING:
Resting on knee or knees.
CROUCHING:
Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.
REACHING:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
STANDING:
For extended time periods.
WALKING:
Especially for long distances.
PUSHING:
Using upper body to press against something with steady force.
PULLING:
Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.
LIFTING:
Occurs frequently and requires substantial use of upper body and back muscles.
FINGER DEXTERITY:
Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
GRASPING:
Using fingers and palm on an object.
TALKING:
Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
REPETITIVE MOTION:
Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
AVERAGE HEARING:
Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES:
Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
Heavy work; exerting up to 100 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. regularly.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Worker is subject to changing inside and/or outside temperatures which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees).
Works both inside and outside. Subject to weather.
Must work under hazardous conditions including high places, chemical exposures, electrical current, moving machinery, exposure to blood, etc.
Frequent local travel.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY:
Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, and yard; ounce and pound (or their metric counterparts).
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.
Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and using adjectives and adverbs.
Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
Required Experience
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of janitorial equipment, basic cleaning techniques, and maintenance procedures.
Basic understanding of blueprints and the operation of electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling and plumbing equipment. Understanding of related safety and OSHA requirements preferred.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Previous maintenance, carpentry, or electrical experience.
