Web Developer and SEO Strategist
Responsible for website modifications using WordPress. Demonstrate the ability to optimize the user experience and manage the customer journey to conversion by implementing website content, landing pages, graphics, monitoring and analyzing performance and capacity, while integrating the use of an extensive MarTech Stack. Special emphasis on on-site and off-site SEO tactic implementation.
The ideal candidate will have a portfolio of various work projects (franchise or retail a plus) and the technologies they have used to drive traffic, engagement and conversions. He/She will be an accountable and dependable team player who communicates well with non-technical business unit managers, vendors and executive leadership. He/She will take ownership and deliver assigned projects in a timely manner and serve as the subject matter expert for knowledge and/or research in the area of modern web technologies and frameworks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing new features and increasing functionality of the existing Any Lab Test Now website/multi-sites.
Guiding the website’s future architecture, development and implementation.
Design, create, and implement customer-facing test gallery and shopping cart experience
Ensuring high-performance and availability of websites, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS, including plug-ins and API interfaces.
Quality assurance website testing for cross-browser compatibility, responsive design and general website performance
Work with IT Manager to troubleshoot network and server issues affecting websites
Manage technical considerations relating to the website including site design plans, development budget, equipment, performance requirements, or legal issues including accessibility and privacy
Develop or implement procedures for ongoing website revision
Recommend and implement performance improvements
Completes special projects and assignments as requested
Expert knowledge of WordPress
Programming experience with HTML5, CSS 3, modern JavaScript
Expert at CSS interactive design
Expert Implementation of SEO strategy
Expert utilization of best practices for auditing websites for SEO
Google Certification
Competitor analysis, industry research, and up-to-date SEO best practice for algorithm and UX/UI changes.
Staying informed and developing in-depth knowledge of Google’s Algorithm developments. Google’s new releases and Google’s products/services that can benefit the franchise system.
Expert understanding of content strategy
Expert level experience researching and formulating competitive keyword and backlinking strategies
Writing and implementing search engine optimized copy
Direct communication with vendors when necessary
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for both technical and strategic discussions
Online reputation management (GMB, Social Media and YEXT)
Create and maintain SEO project timelines and results reporting (GMB analytics, Google Analytics, Map Pack rankings, keyword rankings and gap analysis, local SERP rankings, etc.
Reporting and analysis using SEO tools (SEM Rush, Moz, SpyFu, Google Console/Analytics, AHREF)
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Associate degree and related experience also considered (i.e. valid developer training certificate)
At least five years-experience in SEO, WordPress, Yoast, PHP, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
At least four years-experience in HTML 5 and CSS
At least three year of best practice experience in UX/UI for SEO
At least three years of Technical SEO experience
Knowledge of JavaScript and an eye for design
Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
Strong aptitude for digital marketing and marketing metrics
Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
