Job Description

Apex is seeking a summer associate to work with our technology and resource assessment team assisting with creation and deployment of analytical tools to support our development of wind and solar projects. The summer associate will work with data ranging from raw meteorological data, to pre-construction projections from our energy analysts, to data from operating wind and solar plants. The role will focus on the development of new tools and applications to assimilate large data sets and aid analysis. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and roll out analytical tools and dashboards for internal use
• Gather requirements from stakeholders
• Create test plans and documentation
• Train stakeholders in the use of the developed tools and dashboards

Qualifications

• Master’s degree candidate in Data Science, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Applications Development or a related field.
• Proficiency with Python is required.
• Proficiency with SQL is required.
• Experience with GitHub required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• Experience with Snowflake is preferred.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines preferred.
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are required.
• Previous Wind Energy or Solar Energy experience is a plus.

• The summer associate program will run from June 5 through August 11 but we can be flexible with the start and end dates
• Hours: Full Time 
• Type:  Non-Exempt
• Paid Internship: Undergrad $15/Hour; Grad $25/Hour
• Office Location: Our Charlottesville, VA headquarters
