    Job Description

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    The New Markets team provides the market intelligence that drives Apex’s greenfielding process and overall strategy. In this role, you’ll support the analysis of information that helps evaluate, rank and select the state and regional markets that we develop in. You might spend the summer working to understand an emerging driver of value for renewable power projects, diving into a regional market to assess its attractiveness for development or distilling macroeconomic developments down to their project-level implications.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    You are passionate about accelerating the shift to a clean energy future and are currently pursuing either an MBA or a graduate degree in a related field. You have an outstanding academic record, knowledge of U.S. power markets, and can quickly and effectively pull relevant data from a variety of sources. You are adept at using both quantitative and qualitative information to inform decision making. You are interested and able to work remotely as a paid member of our team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    ·        Evaluating U.S. power markets and aiding in the development of market strategies;

    ·        Analyzing, quantifying, and visualizing drivers of demand for renewable power;

    ·        Synthesizing economic, commodity, financial, regulatory, and other data from a wide variety of sources; and

    ·        Performing other duties and investigations as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ·        MBA or a graduate degree candidate in a related field (e.g. finance, energy, economics, environmental science) with an outstanding academic record;

    ·        Knowledge of or experience with at least one RTO/ISO, preferably one located in the U.S.;

    ·        Strong cross-functional (quantitative and qualitative) analytical skills;

    ·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

    ·        Intermediate (or greater) familiarity with Microsoft Excel;

    ·        Demonstrable alignment with Apex’s core values of sustainability, safety, entrepreneurship, integrity, and professionalism;

    ·        Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, S&P Market Intelligence/CAPIQ, IHS Markit, Wood Mackenzie, or similar data providers is a plus.
