Podiatric Medical Assistant for Naples Office
Immediate position available for ambitious, responsible, organized medical assistant.
Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:
Works closely with doctors and management to maintain effective communication and complete daily tasks.
Prepares patients for examination and verifies patient information by talking with patients, recording, and updating medical history in EHR program, and confirming purpose of visit.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
Collect copayments, coinsurances, and balances from patients.
Collects and verifies patient’s insurance coverage and benefits, as well as completing insurance authorizations as necessary.
Assists doctors with in-office procedures. Obtains any necessary consents beforehand and provides patients with aftercare instructions.
Completes and safeguards patient medical records; scribes office visits and dictations, completes orders and referrals.
Takes patient x-rays and maintains patient’s analog x-ray records.
Keeps track of all supply inventory and ordering.
Sterilizing instruments weekly or more often, as needed.
Maintains office cleanliness with daily room cleaning and weekly office cleaning.
This is a full-time position. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:30 pm with lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. We have offices in Fort Myers and Naples, you must have reliable transportation and a willingness to travel between locations. This is an hourly position and starting salary will be $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. We also provide uniforms, paid holidays, and vacation time, after a probationary period.
Education, Experience, Licensing, and Qualifications:
Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Patient focus and excellent bedside manner
Patient confidentiality and following all HIPAA laws
2+ years in a medical office
Preferred, but not required:
Licensed Podiatric X-ray Technician
Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
Previous experience in specific medical field preferred
Multi-lingual, English/Spanish
