The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation for patients. This role requires quick thinking, strong medical knowledge, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Emergency Response : Respond to emergency calls, provide on-site medical care, and transport patients to medical facilities.
- Patient Assessment : Evaluate patients' conditions, determine the nature of their injuries or illnesses, and provide appropriate emergency medical treatment.
- Basic Life Support : Administer CPR, control bleeding, immobilize fractures, and manage airway obstructions.
- Medical Equipment Maintenance : Ensure all medical equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Patient Transport : Safely transport patients to hospitals or other medical facilities, ensuring their well-being during transit.
- Documentation : Accurately document patient care reports, treatment provided, and any changes in patient condition.
- Collaboration : Work closely with paramedics, firefighters, and other emergency personnel to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Training and Compliance : Maintain current EMT certification and attend regular training sessions. Adhere to all company policies and protocols.
