The company reserves the right to modify or discontinue the program at any time.**The purchasing and parts manager will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company. Manages all purchasing activities and inventory, establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures. Maintains relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiates contracts for major purchases. Evaluates and analyzes purchasing trend and price trend to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee. • Updates existing policies, establishes new policies as needed and ensure compliance. • Administers corporate purchasing card program. • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate. • Examines bids in collaboration with senior management and makes awards. • Establishes account/credit and terms. • Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period. • Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers. • Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.• Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with state and U.S. laws. • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics. .• Establishes inventory control levels and balances them for maximum turn over.• Establishes Policies and procedures to maximize inventory security and minimize loss• Manages all shop supplies inventory and levels • Ability to manage multiple locations using technology • Hire, coach, mentor, develop and counsel all direct reports.• Other duties as assigned.Competencies• Ethical & Moral Conduct.• Communication Proficiency.• Technical Capacity.• Collaboration.• Time Management.• Leadership.• Business Acumen.• Critical Thinking & Decision Making.• Excellent organizational skills • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a Shop environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, Some weekends as needed.TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected if and when required.Required Education and Experience1. High School diploma or GED2. 5 years of Part Management experience.Preferred Education and Experience1. Experience in commercial vehicles, ready mix or construction industry.2.
