    THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN COMPETITIVE, EMPLOYMENT AS WELL TO PROMOTE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR PROGRAM GOALS AND ACTIVITIES TO EMPLOYERS AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY THROUGH PRESENTATIONS. 

    This position is Monday through Friday day hours working on site at local businesses coaching individual(s) with disabilities to become proficient in their job. The area, job site and hours for this position is expected to expand in the future.

    We provide paid training. Candidates will need reliable transportation. Valid driver's license, registration and vehicle insurance is required. 

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:                                               

    1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    2. Excellent judgment, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills;
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, families, co-workers, staff, supervisors, funding sources, and other social service agency personnel;
    4. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
    5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or other relevant computer software as these relate to job responsibilities.
