POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR FULL STACK WEB ENGINEER

Apollidon Learning, an online program management firm serving higher education institutions, is seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable and talented FULL STACK WEB ENGINEER who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a mid-level Full Stack Web Engineer who is passionate about developing and has a strong interest in education. As a Full Stack Web Engineer, you will possess the ability to produce clean, well-documented, efficient and standard-compliant code with an eye toward performance optimization.

The FULL STACK WEB ENGINEER position reports to the MANAGER OF WEB DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (related field) or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with TypeScript/JavaScript using NodeJS, ReactJS or similar technologies

CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience writing, delivering and maintaining production quality applications that are easy to scale and maintain
• Excellent and proven knowledge of TypeScript and/or JavaScript
• Experience building responsive application interfaces with ReactJS
• Experience using NextJS is a plus
• Experience building or consuming back-end REST and GraphQL based API’s
• Strong understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility and CSS-based design
• Strong ability to articulate technical implementation plans, define specifications and execute the details
• Ability to work independently, quickly and efficiently while maintaining quality
• Ability to work as a team following Agile & Scrum processes and methodologies
• Ability to quickly implement straightforward solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for team collaboration
• Experience with Git and a familiarity with Continuous Integration and Deployment
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus
• Experience with AWS/Amazon Web Services or other cloud technologies is a plus
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Cypress/Jest is a plus
• Experience with the NestJS TypeScript framework is a plus
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria is a plus
• Experience using JIRA is a plus
