Job Description:
Appetize is a fast-growing technology platform that is replacing legacy point of sale and payment systems at entertainment, leisure and education enterprise businesses around the world. The company’s top-notch client roster includes venues like Disney Parks, San Diego Zoo, the PGA Tour, LAFC, Live Nation, AEG, and Madison Square Garden.

About this role:

This is a new role, created to support Appetize’s evolving information
security program and initiatives. You will assist with managing risk to Appetize’s reputation, customers and security posture by providing engineering assistance in implementation and operationalization of security solutions across the enterprise.

What you will do:

• Drive the initiatives of building and implementing tools to automate security monitoring and tasks
• Drive the initiatives of reviewing of security-sensitive aspects of applications and systems
• Assist with developing solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities quickly and efficiently
• Lead security projects from design, implementation to operational phase.
• Drive the initiatives of collaborating with third party penetration-testing firms to regularly assess, remediate, and improve security posture of Appetize products and services

What you will need:

• Industry experience in the field of cyber-security or networking, specific to PCI DSS compliance, GDPR and CCPA requirements
• Experience in driving and completing initiatives for certifications like SOC 2, ISO 270001/2
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills; commitment to team collaboration, training and mentoring
• Familiar with security best practices in IaaS/PaaS services such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud for SaaS based offerings
• Development experience with some application frameworks like – Go, PHP, Java,Python, Ruby, etc.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell script, Perl etc.)
• Experience with software development skills on modern languages like Python, Ruby, Go etc
• Commitment to documentation and tracking results via enterprise ticketing/collaboration platforms
• Experience working with fast-paced operations/dev teams and DevOps practices
• Background in Linux and *nix operating systems
• Foundational understanding in application security, cryptography, PKI, network security, security in server less environments and microservices based architecture
• Practiced familiarity with security assessment tools like Metasploit, Burp suite, Wireshark, Nessus Professional, ZAP proxy, etc.
• Understanding of concepts with Web Applications Firewalls and DLP
