Start a Hands-On Career in Appliance Repair
Are you mechanically inclined, curious about how things work, and ready to build a skilled career? Home Appliance is hiring an Appliance Repair Technician Apprentice.
No previous appliance repair experience is required. We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused person who enjoys solving problems, working with tools, and learning new technology.
You will begin with approximately eight weeks of paid training at $20 per hour. Training includes working alongside experienced technicians, manufacturer instruction, classroom learning, online courses, and hands-on practice.
Once you successfully complete training and demonstrate that you can independently diagnose and resolve appliance problems, you may begin running your own route and become eligible to earn commission in addition to your base pay.
What You’ll Learn
During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to:
Diagnose problems with kitchen and laundry appliances
Repair refrigerators, ranges, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major household appliances
Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations
Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, technical resources, and manufacturer information
Determine the parts and procedures needed to complete a repair
Explain appliance problems and recommended solutions clearly to customers
Provide accurate repair estimates within company procedures
Teach customers how to properly operate and care for their appliances
Maintain accurate service records, notes, and documentation
Manage parts and inventory carried in your service truck
Keep your company truck clean, safe, and organized
Safely operate a company-provided service truck
Deliver a professional and respectful experience in customers’ homes
Use company resources and support systems when facing unfamiliar problems

Before running your own route, you must demonstrate that you can safely and independently diagnose and resolve common appliance problems while effectively using the tools, technical information, and support resources available to you.
Once approved to run your own route and take your own service calls, you can:
Become eligible to earn commission
Advance through multiple Service Technician levels
Increase your commission percentage as your skills and performance grow
Build toward senior technician and leadership opportunities
You May Be a Great Fit If You

Can qualify as a driver under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
