Job Description: The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), Division for Planning and Operations, is seeking an experienced Python Application Developer to refactor and modernize the codebase supporting a full-stack geocoding system. This includes enhancing Python scripts for data processing, improving integration with geocoding APIs (Google Maps, ArcGIS Server), and transitioning spatial data to a SQL Server-based ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase. The developer will follow Python best practices, improve maintainability, logging, and error handling, and collaborate with GIS and IT teams to ensure successful implementation and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience:

· Advanced proficiency in Python (PEP 8, logging, error handling)

· Strong experience with ArcPy, SQL Server, and ArcGIS geodatabases

· Familiarity with Google Maps Geocoding API and ArcGIS Server REST services

· Use of Git and modular software design practices

· Ability to work independently and document technical processes

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience modernizing legacy Python codebases

· Familiarity with geocoding workflows and public health or government projects
