Job Summary
We are seeking an Applications Engineer to join our specialized North American service team. This is a remote position with moderate travel supporting our office in NY and our company headquarters in England. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service and ensuring our customers have confidence in RoBAT’s expertise. Your primary role is to provide remote and on-site support, troubleshooting, and custom test programs for RoBAT machines in predominantly northern Mexico and southwestern USA. You will also periodically be assigned special projects to help improve RoBAT products and processes. You will report to the Worldwide Director of Applications and also interface closely with our Service Manager in our NY office on all machine service and hardware related issues.
Responsibilities
Install and perform regular maintenance on a variety of RoBAT machines on site
Provide remote and on-site customer support, including occasionally off-hours
Train customers on all aspects of RoBAT equipment, including operation, programming, commissioning, and test optimization
Evaluate and quote the most effective RoBAT test solution based on customer needs
Maintain accurate and detailed records for each on-site and remote support case
Qualifications
A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics or 2-4 years of experience in the Printed Circuit Board industry
Ability to travel to/from Mexico and the U.S.
Ability to provide written and verbal communication clearly, professionally, and promptly
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism
Creative troubleshooting ability and excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Experience interacting with customers is preferred
Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings is preferred
Proximity to Yuma, AZ or El Paso, TX is ideal for ease of travel and customer support
Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
