    About Plug

Plug is one of the fastest-growing ecommerce companies in St. Louis, backed by multiple Fortune 500 partners. We sell certified pre-owned smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, and accessories: a smarter, more affordable, and more sustainable alternative to buying new.

With 8M+ followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, we have built one of the largest and most engaged communities in tech. New York Times Wirecutter Best Experience. Responsible Recycler certified. Over one million pounds of e-waste diverted. We are not just a brand. We are a movement, and we are just getting started.

    How We Work

Plug runs on ownership. We move fast, expect a lot, and give people the autonomy to match. No politics. No hand-holding. No ambiguity about what winning looks like. Every person here operates with a founder mindset: clear on the goal, accountable for the outcome, proud of the work.

If you want a front-row seat to building something that matters, this is the place. If you want a job where someone tells you exactly what to do every day, this isn’t it.

    The Role

This is a new position at Plug. We are not looking for someone to build dashboards or run reports. We are looking for someone who can look at how this business operates, identify where AI can remove friction, and build intelligent systems and automations that run on their own and make every department sharper.

As Applied AI Analyst, you will work directly with the CMO and cross-functionally across every team in the company. You will own the buildout of AI-powered tools, agentic workflows, and automation systems that touch CX, inventory, content, operations, and marketing. You are not maintaining existing infrastructure. You are building what does not exist yet.

Success is not measured by how sophisticated your models are. It is measured by how much time you save, how many problems you catch before anyone has to ask, and how much more this company can do with the same number of people.

    What You Will Build

Agentic AI systems that monitor, flag, and act on business data without manual intervention.

Automated return trend analysis that surfaces SKU-level issues and threshold breaches in real time.

Product catalog intelligence that catches data errors, invalid configurations, and pricing anomalies automatically.

Channel performance monitoring across Shopify, NetSuite, and carrier partnerships.

AI-assisted content workflows that improve script quality, hook performance, and production speed for our content team.

CX automation that reduces manual message handling and escalates only what requires human attention.

Inventory and warehouse optimization tools that help the ops team move faster with fewer errors.

Margin and pricing intelligence that flags underwater SKUs and surfaces opportunities across channels.

    What We Are Looking For

You love working with data. Not looking at it. Working with it.

You can take a vague problem and come back Monday with something that runs.

You think like an owner. If something is broken, you fix it without being told.

You are comfortable with ambiguity. The roadmap changes. The tools change. You adapt.

You stay current on AI. When a new model or framework drops, you already know about it.

You can explain what you built to someone who has never written a line of code.

You are fast. We move quickly and you need to move with us.

    Technical Background

Strong candidates will have experience in several of the following:

Python for data analysis, automation, and AI integration.

LLM APIs such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI, including prompt engineering and agentic workflow design.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar frameworks for connecting AI to business systems and data sources.

Machine learning and applied AI concepts including computer vision, NLP, and supervised learning.

Data preprocessing, cleaning, analysis, and visualization.

Integration with ecommerce and ERP platforms such as Shopify or NetSuite is a strong advantage.

Experience building tools that non-technical users can actually use without your help.

    The Bottom Line

We are building something real in St. Louis. No corporate noise, no bloated org charts. Just a focused team that cares about the product, the mission, and the work. If you can look at a growing ecommerce business and immediately see where the AI opportunity is hiding: and you have the drive and skill to go build it: we want to talk.
