    Head‑quartered in Mountain View, California, guided by a Stanford University CS Professor, we operate fully remote and fly everyone to Silicon Valley 1‑2 times per year for all‑hands. We huddle online every day and draw on deep healthcare roots.

    Position Overview

    We are hiring an Applied NLP Scientist to expand our Data Science / ML research group as our deployments scaled 100X and our product line scaled 3X.

    What You'll Do

    • Prototype with Claude Sonnet on AWS Bedrock, then distill to PyTorch models
    • Named Entity Recognition, Relation Extraction, Part Of Speech analysis, etc.
    • Perform error analysis; surface actionable insights
    • Evangelize state‑of‑the‑art NLP tools/research
    • Attend the 9 AM PT daily stand‑up (global team)
    • Train - Learn - Teach - Repeat

    Our wonderful data engineering, ML engineering and MLOps colleagues will make sure you get the data you need, your models are deployed and their products are delivered on time. We develop!

    Core Requirements

    • Education – BS+ in CS, Stats, Math, or similar; strong theoretical grounding
    • Hands‑on NLP – 2+ production Transformer projects; fluent in prompt‑to‑model knowledge‑distillation techniques
    • Tech stack – Python, PyTorch, AWS (Bedrock | EC2 | S3), GitHub
    • Clinical‑text grit – comfortable with abbreviations, typos, and heterogeneous formats
    • Willing & eligible to sign a HIPAA (U.S. health‑privacy law) data protection agreement

    Bonus Points

    • Clinical‑coding NLP (ICD, LOINC, SNOMED) or prompt‑engineering tooling experience
    • Publications or Open Source Software in healthcare AI
    • 1+ years of guided computational research work in a university lab
