Business Development Coordinator
Applied Optimization (AO) Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Coordinator Reports to: Company President
FLSA Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt) Department: G&A
Position Objective:
This position is designed to identify, build, and maintain successful business opportunities and relationships with prospective and existing clients.
Essential Functions:
Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business
Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
Increase the value of current clients while attracting new opportunities
Develop relationships with clients and manage communication with existing clients
Track and report on the status of all proposal components
Partner with the technical teams to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients and ensure that contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed
Ensure accuracy and follow documentation procedures for all work; maintain notebook of daily activities and provide weekly report of work
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher related to the field of marketing, sales, organizational leadership, or business communications with a superior academic record
Knowledge of best business development practices
Experience in strategic analysis and business development
Attention to detail, accuracy of work, due diligence, and effective time and schedule management skills
Effective organizing, planning, and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt within a small team to support evolving company requirements
Ability to execute instructions and communication in written, oral, and diagram form
Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce routine reports and correspondence and speak before a group
Demonstrated strong writing, fact-gathering, and analytical skills
Interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality; strong sense of equality
Basic computer and software skills including but not necessarily limited to Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered, if not currently employed by Applied Optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
College cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.5 or higher
Citizenship/Security Clearance Requirements:
U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
