Roles & Responsibilities

• Ship product features by writing well-designed, maintainable, and testable code

• Build reliable and usable dashboards for internal and external users

• Implement back-end APIs

• Design, develop, and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for the existing code base and for new functionality under development, using a strong understanding of security-based design patterns

• Serve as a technical expert in the evaluation and testing of the capabilities, characteristics, and requirements of existing and emerging information systems technologies

• Develop scalable cloud-based solutions, considering security and performance

• Support teams in evaluating detailed requirements

• Prepare and obtain approval of system design documentation

• Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards

• Make recommendations as to feasibility of implementation of modified or new technologies and/or frameworks

• Mentor fellow engineers

• Troubleshoot and resolve software bugs

• Participate in an Agile software development life cycle

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years Ruby on Rails (REST API’s)

• MySQL query & schema design

• Javascript (with React Experience)

• AWS Cloud Experience

• Git

• RSpec Test automation

• Solid understanding of RESTful systems and the principles of good API design

Nice to Haves

• AWS Certification

• Experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Time Series Database experience
