    Location: Timmreck & McNicol Jewelers – McMinnville, OR Department: Repair Compensation: $16/hour + monthly piece work bonus Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

    About Us

    Timmreck & McNicol Jewelers is a fourth-generation, family-owned jewelry store. We specialize in fine jewelry, timepieces, and in-house repair. We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Apprentice to support our repair department.

    Position Summary

    This entry-level position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an interest in jewelry or watches, and wants to learn a trade. You'll receive hands-on training and play a key role in the intake of all repair jobs, as well as the completion of minor jewelry repairs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Greet customers and assist with repair-related inquiries at our repair window

    Use the Geller Blue Book to quote basic repair services such as sizing, tipping, and soldering

    Perform minor repair work including:

    Soft soldering

    Gluing

    Watch battery replacement (excluding solar/kinetic)

    Basic restringing of elastic, knotted, and wired jewelry

    Properly sort, flag, and track repair jobs within the shop

    Maintain a clean and organized workspace

    Requirements

    High school diploma or GED (required)

    Must be 18 years or older

    Valid driver’s license required

    Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

    Willingness to learn and take direction

    Friendly and professional communication skills

    Basic computer proficiency

    Compensation & Growth

    Starting wage: $16.00/hour

    Piece work bonuses that typically average $300–$500 per month, based on volume and quality

    Hands-on training provided for all tools, techniques, and quoting processes
