    Aptive is seeking a Strategic Communication Specialist to lead industry engagement in support of the U.S. Army Program Executive Office (PEO) Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Strategic Communications Directorate.

    This senior-level, full-time position is on base at Ft. Belvoir, located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position has telework flexibility with occasional on site meetings. This is a contingent hire position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

    • 10+ years of experience in strategic communications, outreach, public relations and strategic partnership development.

    • Demonstrated experience building partnerships within and between federal agencies, nonprofits and private sector partners.

    • Project management experience and expertise.

    • Familiarity with a variety of emerging technology trends and the information technology field.

    • Expert knowledge of the use of digital means to connect and engage is critical. 

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field.

    • Active U.S. Army secret clearance strongly preferred.

    • Ability to work onsite in Ft. Belvoir, Alexandria, Virginia.

    • Experience supporting large federal agencies.

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

    JOB DUTIES.

    • Oversee industry engagement and manage relationships with prospective vendors interested in doing business with PEO EIS.
    • Create and disseminate pitches, presentations, toolkits and other communication materials to establish partnerships and enhance partnership development.
    • Coordinate and prepares meetings with PEO EIS senior leaders, tracks metrics and outcomes related to industry engagements.
    • Coordinate with multiple program offices to response to write information papers to inform vendor meetings with Army senior leaders (at the chief of staff and secretariat level). 
    • Plan and coordinate speaking opportunities and vendor meetings at key conferences and industry engagements. 
    • Submitting applications for industry awards recognizing key PEO EIS workforce members and communication campaigns.
    • Develop an annual strategic plan to inform engagement among the program offices.
    • Research, write, edit and coordinate a broad range of communications/outreach materials (e.g., articles, blogs, brochures, fact sheets, flyers, media pitches, outreach scripts, social media posts) under strict deadlines.
    • Orchestrate the activities of cross-functional teams, delivering project requirements of high quality and on schedule.
    • Gather, analyze and interpret information and data from various sources to use across content.
    • Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including leadership.
    • Schedule, lead and attend meetings with potential partners and clients on a regular basis.
    • Develop content in compliance with AP style and other guidelines.
    • Review outreach material for stylistic and formatting consistency.

    DESIRED SKILLS.

    • Knowledge of the procurement and contracting process is desired.
    • Deep knowledge of modern, cloud-enabled information technologies. Past experience at notable private sector technology firms a plus.
    • Knowledge of Salesforce desired. 
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proven expertise in IT strategic communications, public relations, public affairs, research, writing and editing.
    • Proficiency in organizing, communicating information, and scheduling and leading meetings with c-suite level stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple moving parts, juggle assignments and make sound decisions.
    • Ability to deliver clear, compelling communications, both written and verbal.
    • Perform well in team settings and work productively as an individual.
    • Positive and energetic attitude with a strong desire to meet goals, priorities and commitments.
