The Motion Designer is an expert digital artist. They have high-end digital skills and are expert with interactive media software, which could include graphic design and video editing to three-dimensional animation. As an expert digital artist, they will use visual effects, animations and other techniques to create artwork for the media such as web, television or film (eg. trailers, commercials, title sequences etc.). He/she will be responsible for working hand in hand with the design and illustration team, aiding with the creation of assets, then bringing them to life. They are agile at brainstorming, coming up with custom graphics that transmit ideas across digital platforms. They are also deadline driven, organized and detail obsessed. They have top notch interpersonal and communication skills but are also self-starters, able to work independently from a group.

This is an Associate, full-time position is on-site in Alexandria, VA, though remote working arrangements may be possible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

• 8+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Animation and/or related Visual Arts.
• Portfolio, reel and/or example links required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

JOB DUTIES.

• Staying up to date with industry trends
• Producing consistently excellent visual work
• Create highly engaging complex animations for a diverse array of media
• Work with illustrators, designers to understand the project scope and objectives
• Assist in the creation of animation storyboards and conceptual layouts
• Encoding, converting and editing videos and adding effects/elements to enhance motion graphics.
• Supporting creative and account teams throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
• Works closely with AD, AE, and Production personnel as a team member on assigned accounts to produce effective themes, campaigns, etc.
• Work with the team to develop experiences that exceed client goals, carry out the creative vision, and fulfill marketing & strategy's mission
• Participates in client-agency meetings, when appropriate.
• Displays professional courtesy to clients and co-workers; is considerate of their work schedules.

DESIRED SKILLS.

   •    Experienced in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro

   •    Proficiency with Adobe Audition, Adobe Prelude

       •    Proficiency with Google Web Designer, and/or Adobe Animate

       •    Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

       •    Familiarity with Cinema4D, Blender, or other 3D software is a plus

       •    Technical knowledge of compositing, procedural animation, timing, texturing and lighting

       •    Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple deadlines

       •    Candidate must be a creative and enthusiastic solution-oriented team player

       •    Superior project management, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills

       •    Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

       •    Proficient in knowledge and understanding of different video codecs and best practices associated with them
